Our department mission is to provide trusted data and insights to understand product & process performance and customer behavior, enabling improved efficiency and better customer experience. We are looking for a Cloud Platform Developer within Data and Analytics We are the Platform Operations and Engineering team, working to accelerate and streamline the use of data, analytics, and AI. The team innovates and collaborates to offer a great user experience, and to provide a unified self-service platform. What will you do? As a Cloud Platform Developer, you will be at the forefront of designing and building a Platform to bolster the data and analytics capabilities of the Volvo Cars Engineering organization. Your responsibilities will include configuring and setting up cloud infrastructure, deploying and operating data-oriented applications on Kubernetes, and working closely with other teams and platform users to gather requirements and maintain seamless operations. We are in an early development phase, which means you will have the unique opportunity of contributing directly to the Platform's foundation. Your input will directly shape its trajectory, setting the stage for its future growth and success. Some of the tech we use today:
Languages: Python, Go
Cloud: Azure, AWS, Rancher, Kubernetes, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, Vault
DevOps: Terraform, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm
PaaS: Databricks, Snowflake
Who are you? We are looking for a proactive individual with a solution-oriented mindset, who is proficient in the following areas:
Public or private cloud (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
Implementation of scalable infrastructure through an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approach.
Deployment and operation of applications on Kubernetes.
CI/CD and other modern software development methodologies
In addition, experience in any of the following is highly valued:
Networking, security, and reliability in enterprise cloud solutions.
Continuous Deployment with tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm, etc.
Tools and technologies for working with Big Data, including event streaming (e.g. Kafka, MQTT), large-scale data processing (e.g. Spark, Ray, Arrow), and storage solutions for Big Data (e.g. Data Lake, Data Warehouse).
We believe you have minimum of 5 years of experience in related fields, that you are familiar with Agile methods, and that you are fluent in English, both verbal and written.
